On Sunday, May 23, 2021, Erik Alan Potter, loving fiancé and father of two precious girls, passed away at the age of 42. Erik was born on February 13, 1979, in Elizabethton, Tennessee to Linda Brewer and the late Richard Potter. He worked at Snap-On Tools for almost eight years.
Erik was a Unaka graduate. He had a passion for his daughters, Erika and Savannah. They meant the world to him. He enjoyed being outdoors, spending time with friends and family. He was a die-hard Unaka Softball and UT Vols fan. He enjoyed special weekly rides to the lookout with his fiancé, Lauren, looking for wildlife.
If you knew Erik’s laugh, you would know it was him long before you saw him. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed cracking jokes and making people smile and laugh.
Erik was preceded in death by his father, Richard Potter; and a sister, Melissa “Missy” Griffin.
He has left to cherish his memories his daughters, Erika and Savannah Potter; his fiancé, Lauren Mauney, all of the home; his mother, Linda Brewer; his brothers, Brian (Christine) Potter, Jason (Marcie) Rasnick and Travis (Andrea) Rasnick; his sister, Candi (Todd) Berry; his nieces, Haley Griffin, Libby Rasnick, Avaleigh Parker and Maeson Rasnick; his nephews, Cody Griffin, Beau Mitchell Rasnick, Brandon Berry, Tyler Berry and Brody Rasnick; and many special friends and extended family.
A service to celebrate the life of Erik Alan Potter will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 30, 2021, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Pastor David Odom officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace prior to the service on Sunday.
The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Jason Rasnick, Travis Rasnick, Gary Stearns, Brian Potter, Ryan Shoun and Carroll Pierce.
Special thanks to all the staff at UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital for their amazing care and lasting bonds and memories.
