Johnny Ray Miller, 62, of Elizabethton, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021, at his home. He was the son of Barbara A. Miller, of Elizabethton, and the late George E. Miller Sr. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Al and Dovie Miller, Carson Hill, and Ve Hopson; an infant sister, Barbara; and his dog and best friend, Jack.
Johnny was recently retired from Wright Brothers Construction after 33 years. Prior to Wright Brothers, he worked for JI Cornett and Hubert Lewis Construction. He enjoyed riding his Harleys, farming, and spending time at his ranch.
Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Rachel Oakes, of the home; four step-children, Clayton Grindstaff, Katie Ketchem (Richard), Jennie Mainyi (Sergii) and Nick Collins; two step-grandchildren, Shelby Ketchem and Max Mainyi; a brother, George Miller Jr. (Karen); other siblings, Ray Miller (Nancy) and Becky Morefield (Tommy); two nephews, Jonathan Miller and Justin Miller (Whitney); four nieces, Jennifer Blackston (Robert), Jamie Morefield, Abby Miller and Hannah Miller; and eight great-nephews and nieces, Lucas Miller, Lauren Miller, Keira Blackston, Zoie Miller, Lainey Miller, Kaylee Blackston, Kennedy Blackston and Grady Miller.
