Headrick-led Lady Cyclones defeat First Baptist Academy

Morgan Headrick had a little added incentive in Elizabethton’s 54-43 win over First Baptist Academy in basketball action before the Christmas holiday.

Needing just a few points to break the 1,000-point mark for her career as a Lady Cyclone, Headrick lit up the basket for 21 points to lead the Lady Cyclones to a victory in hardwood action.

Lina Lyon and Renna Lane also reached double figures in helping Coach Lucas Andrews team to the 11-point win.

Lyon tossed in 16 points in the contest while Lane finished with 11.

The Lady Cyclones hit six treys in the first period to set the pace by 24-8 lead at the first horn and never looked back.

Catherine Henderson led all scorers as the FBA player scored a game-high 25 points. Henderson’s teammates Aaniyah Johnson and Canaan Chitwood chipped in eight points apiece in a losing cause.
