Alfred N. Fair, age 90, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 6, 2020, at the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Alfred was born in Carter County to the late Jim and Lucy Brown Fair.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Moffett Fair; his second wife, Hannah Nave Myers Fair; one brother, Roy Fair; two stepsons, Robert Myers and Phillip Myers; and a daughter-in-law, Candy Sue James Fair.
Alfred was a retired truck driver and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. He was a member of Roan Mountain Masonic Lodge #566 F&AM and enjoyed the outdoors, camping and “tinkering on odd jobs.” He loved to be outside relaxing on his back porch and enjoyed sharing stories of his grandchildren.
Those left to cherish his memory include a son, Johnnie Fair and wife Gail, of Elizabethton; his grandchildren, Sean (Holli) Fair, Stacy (Tracy) Fair, Tracey (Brad) Johnson, Susan Myers (Rodney) Chapman, Robert (Melony) Myers, Samuel (Kimberly) Myers, and Sarah Myers (Blake) Kolseth; his great-grandchildren, Haley Noel Fair, Dalton Fair, Summer Johnson, Peyton Johnson, Kadence Myers, Leia, Ella, Ava and Maria Kolseth.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Alfred N. Fair will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at Happy Valley Memorial Park, with Pastor Timothy Adkins, officiating. Active pallbearers will be Gordon “Shorty” Lanier, Brian Perrigan, Charlie McNeal, Samuel Myers, Robert Myers and Sean Fair. Those wishing to attend the service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton at 12:15 PM on Wednesday, to go in procession to the cemetery.
Friends and family can call at the residence of a grandson, Sean Fair, at any time.
Friends may also call at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton between the hours of 8:00 AM until 4:30 PM to sign the guest register book.
Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations in honor of Alfred N. Fair to Eastside Baptist Church, 1509 Siam Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
The family would like to especially thank the ICU Nurses at Sycamore Shoals Hospital for the loving care given to Mr. Fair during his illness.
