A 1979 graduate of Cloudland High School, she was a cherished mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend with an uplifting personality and contagious laugh that was cherished by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Brownlow and Arthene (Shell) Holtsclaw of Roan Mountain, Arettia (Arrowood) Fields and Avery Phillips of Knoxville; former husband and close friend, Jimmie McKeehan of Elizabethton; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and a special friend, Barrett Smith of Hampton.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Johnson City Medical Center intensive care and stroke center staff, who went above and beyond with their efforts and care.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no service at this time. It was Janet’s wish to be cremated and a private memorial ceremony will be held at a future date when travel and gatherings are safe. In lieu of a service, friends and family may extend their condolences by calling the Holtsclaw residence at (423) 725-3121.
