Carroll County squeezes by Cloudland 43-41

  It was the first game of the season for the Cloudland Lady Highlanders and they started the season off against a traveling All-Star team out of Virginia, Carroll County. The Lady Landers Led all of the first half and most of the third quarter but come up short with a 43-41 loss to the Cavaliers.
  Cloudland jumped out to a 7-4 first quarter lead and played even with the Virginia team in the second quarter leading 17-14 at halftime.  A last second shot before the half was ruled no good.
   Ashton Richardson of Carroll County came out red hot in the third period hitting three treys and leading Virginia with a 16-point third quarter giving her team a 30-28 lead. In the final quarter, the teams played even, with both scoring 13 points each. Birchfield led the scoring for Cloudland with 15, Richardson scored 11 for Carroll County.
