DonAnn Birchfield, 48, passed away on October 16, 2020. DonAnn was born December 21, 1971 in Charlotte, N.C., to Don and Sandra Birchfield.
After losing her mother at the age of 3, the family relocated to Roan Mountain to be with family, where she was raised along with her three older siblings, Michele Birchfield, Derek Birchfield and Jill Birchfield.
DonAnn is survived by her only child, Megan Johnson; her oldest sister/mother, Michele Birchfield (the best big sister in the world according to DonAnn), the middle sister, Jill Birchfield, whom DonAnn loved very much, and Samatha Cochrane, her baby half-sister whom DonAnn also loved very much as well. Other surviving family members are DonAnn’s nieces, Sandra Johnson, Cara Estep and Brianna Birchfield, and also her great-niece, Nylla Gibson.
The services will be held at Tetrick Funeral Home in Roan Mountain, Tenn., on Sunday, November 1. Due to COVID-19, the services will start at 10 a.m. and will resume through 4 p.m. in order to allow family and friends to pay their respects without large gatherings of people.
