Now here’s something you don’t see everyday, unless you live in Roan Mountain. This giant banana tree is tall than the house it sits next at almost 20 feet tall. You can find it near Cloudland High School’s football stadium and see for yourself.

Parents and athletes alike await the start of the boys cross-country event inside the Doe River Gorge.
Many local residents and athletes have welcomed the cooler temperatures that have came into the area especially since this time last year the temperatures were in the 90’s.
It has brought many people out since the heat is not so disparring while wearing masks which are still mandated until the end of October.
