Rocky Top Gun Permit School will offer the enhanced handgun carry permit class at 135 Keenburg Road, Elizabethton, on Saturday, Sept. 19, starting at 8:30 a.m. You may carry openly or concealed with this permit and is reciprocal in numerous other states.
Ken Potter, a veteran law enforcement officer, is the instructor for the class. Rocky Top is one of the first schools to offer permit training and has been teaching the program since 1997.
Cost of the class is $55. You will need to bring your weapon and 50 rounds of ammo. Potter says for those who haven’t yet purchased a gun, loaner guns are available.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Carter County is mandating that all citizens wear a mask and observe social distancing.
