Reader refutes facts as presented by Stevenson letter

To the Editor:

In Steve Stevenson’s letter, he pointed to a website, HSLDA.org, and referenced a part of it called Legal Action Center. I found Legislation Action Center, but not Legal Action Center. However, he tries to tie this to democrats who are liberals, but I could only find references to rights to homeschool children.

In his attempt to deceive people about democrats referencing this article and to attempt to put them down, I could find no association to democrats. For no justifiable reason that I could find, other than just wanting to take democrats down, I found his assertions were quite off base.

So, in defense of socialism, we already have it. It exists in every city, county, and state across our country, and even at the top of our country. It is not the socialist state, but democratic socialism. Therefore, if he wants to eliminate democratic socialism, then who will educate our children, build our schools, build and maintain our inner transportation system, fund the police, pay our teachers, build and protect our water departments, etc. You see, socialism is alive and well in the USA, and has been ever since governments have had the power to tax. Tell the truth — the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, because what is left out of this article, turns the truth into deceit, and therefore makes it an untruth.
