Jericho Shrine Temple will meet the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Airport Exit behind Waste Management on the hill. Dinner will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. For more information or if needing a ride to the meeting, call George Lopota, 423-943-7440.

“New Way of Life,” a 12 step based, Open Recovery Meeting, will be held at noon at The Red Legacy, 210 S. Hills Drive, Elizabethton.

The Green Pastures Group of Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 8 p.m. at the Carter County Drug Prevention (CCDP) Building, 546 Elk Ave., Elizabethton.
• Saturday, July 18
Rocky Top Gun Permit School will offer the enhanced handgun carry permit class at 135 Keenburg Road, Elizabethton, starting at 8:30 a.m. You may carry openly or concealed with this permit and is reciprocal in numerous other states. Ken Potter, a veteran law enforcement officer, is the instructor for the class. Rocky Top is one of the first schools to offer permit training and has been teaching the program since 1997. Cost of the class is $55. You will need to bring your weapon and 50 rounds of ammo. Potter says for those who haven’t yet purchased a gun, loaner guns are available.

• Monday, July 20
Roan Mountain Lodge #566 F.&A.M. will meet in stated communication at 7 p.m. at 305 Conway St. All members in good standing are encouraged to attend and visiting Brethren are always welcome. Social distancing guideline set by State and local authorities will be followed.
TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) will meet at First Baptist Church, 212 East F St., Elizabethton. Weigh-in begins at 5:30-6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting at 6:45 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings.
