Jewel Kelley, 91, passed away at Ivy Hall Nursing Home on Sunday, July 12, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Homer and Maude Perry Ellis. Jewel, in addition to her parents, was preceded in passing by her husband, James Elwood, and a brother, Daniel Ellis.
Jewel enjoyed cooking, reading and going to church. She was a member of Milligan Freewill Baptist Church, Johnson City, Tenn.
Mrs. Kelley is survived by a son, Don Kelly, Elizabethton, Tenn.; granddaughters, Kimberely Kelly, Baltimore, Md., and Jamie Kelly-Palmore, Powhatan, Va.; and a special sister-in-law, Pauline Stephens, Chattanooga, Tenn. Jewel also left behind five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews to carry on her memory.
A graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Jewel Kelley will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Mark Street officiating. The family requests that those wishing to attend the graveside service meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Tuesday. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family respectfully encourages that those attending the graveside service wear a face mask and follow the recommended standards and guidelines for social distancing.
