First Christian
This Sunday, First Christian Church will have a Freedom Worship and Bike Rally at 9:45 a.m.
The worship service will be in the parking lot of First Christian Church. Half of the parking lot will be for worship and the other half for parking. All deacons, elders and families are asked to park behind the Coffee Company to allow the elderly to park close.
The worship service will be about an hour long with a patriotic youth rally at the end. Those attending are asked to bring a portable lawn chair. There will be social distancing.
Borderview Christian
Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Highway, will move to an online only service beginning this Sunday, July 5. The decision to go online was done out of an abundance of caution with the current spike of COVID-19 cases in Carter County. There will be no assembling at the church building for the next few weeks.
Also, phase 2 of the church’s reopening for Wednesday night Bible study has been postponed.
Services can be heard on Facebook and the YouTube Channel.
A church spokesman said, “Protection of our members and visitors is one of our top priorities. We appreciate their support and understanding.”
Roan Street Free Will
Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church will have an in-car service at 5 p.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall parking lot.
The message will be represented by the Rev. Joseph Jones.
Everyone is asked to remain in their cars and follow social distancing guidelines.
First Presbyterian
An online worship service will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 119 W. F St.
The Rev. Brian Wyatt will present the sermon “A Better Freedom” based on Gal. 5: 1, 7-14.
Youth and Adult Forums, Wednesday Meditation and Thursdays with Jesus will meet online this week.
All in-person events are canceled through the end of July.
