The City of Elizabethton is continuing its phased reopening of city buildings and facilities. The latest in this reopening plan will be to reopen the Elizabethton Electric lobby for full-service utility business. Elizabethton Electric’s office at 400 Hatcher Lane will reopen on June 1 for both water and electric accounts. Anyone needing assistance with utility account establishment, transfer, reinstatement, or disconnection can do so in the lobby at Elizabethton Electric. At this time, City Hall remains restricted to drive-thru utility bill payments only.
“We take the safety of our citizens and staff very seriously. We are very happy to announce that we will be re-opening the lobby at Elizabethton Electric to all walk-in water and electric business while following social distancing guidelines,” said Jennifer Murphy, Office Manager for Elizabethton’s Finance Department. “We ask that all customers abide by the CDC guidelines that will be in place to help us serve you as safely and efficiently as possible,” she added.
