Freddie B. Crawford, 101, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Shelby and Bessie Stover Taylor.
Mrs. Crawford was a member of Brown’s Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church, and also attended New Zion Faith Center. Freddie always loved to cook, watch wrestling, NASCAR, and game shows.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Edgar Crawford; four daughters, Linda S. Wright, Lelia Bradford, Joan Dixon and Patricia Gray; and two sons, Cecil Crawford and Shelby Crawford.
Those left to cherish her memories include her children, Elaine Napier and husband Steven Napier, Michael Crawford and wife Elizabeth, and Theresa Crawford, all of Elizabethton; two sons-in-law, Robert Gray of Elizabethton and Lester Wright of New Jersey; and one sister-in-law, Diane Crawford of Atlanta, Ga. Numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren also survive.
A graveside service to honor the life of Mrs. Freddie Crawford will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 31, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Jeanette Clark and Rev. Ernest Widby officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be a special niece, Betty Horton, and special friends, Albert Myrick and Pearl Smith. Everyone will meet at Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services at 1:15 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery. Friends may come by Hathaway-Percy Funeral and Cremation Services on Saturday, May 30, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to pay their respects and sign the guestbook.
