BRISTOL — State Senator Rusty Crowe announced Former Tennessee Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey and State Senator Jon Lundberg as chair and co-chair of his campaign for the First Congressional District seat Wednesday afternoon.
Ramsey said, “Senator Crowe, known as the dean of our Tennessee delegation, affectionately called ‘the Rock’ by our fellow senators for his strong stands on important conservative legislation, has always been viewed by his constituents as a friend and tireless worker, always taking the time to listen and follow through on constituent issues, treating everyone with respect. His office in Nashville is well-known for the volume of constituent work that it handles. I’m proud to endorse Senator Crowe for this congressional seat. His institutional knowledge and experience gained through his lengthy service to Tennessee will be well received by congressional leadership. He will be able to take the ball and run with it in Washington. His integrity and dedication to always doing what is right for the people he serves will separate him from the beltway mentality that many encounter. It’s time for Senator Crowe to take a good dose of Tennessee to Washington, D.C.”
Lundberg said, “Rusty is the right man and the right time. The experience to get to work day on day 1, the conservative credentials to represent us extremely well and a proven track record of leadership. The big man for smaller government — that’s Rusty!”
Crowe responded, “Having served with Lieutenant Governor Ron Ramsey for many years in the Tennessee Senate and having worked with him to make our Tennessee Senate the most conservative in the nation, I’m very proud that Ron has chosen to endorse my campaign to replace my friend Congressman Phil Roe as our Tennessee First District congressman. I look forward to taking those values and principles that Lieutenant Gov. Ramsey and I have used to put Tennessee on top nationally to Congress. DC needs a good dose of Tennessee.”
“I’m also very proud to have received this endorsement from Senator Lundberg. Senator Lundberg has gained respect very quickly in the Tennessee Senate as his experience, background, and knowledge being one of those few legislators having been elected in the Tennessee House as well as the Tennessee Senate. His work on the Senate Judiciary Committee, Education Committee, and the Commerce and Labor Committee has contributed to Tennessee’s success locally for Tennessee cities, counties, and law enforcement as well as nationally. Again, I’m proud of Senator Lundberg’s personal friendship and support for my congressional campaign.”
