Jimmie Dwight Douglas, 72 of Elizabethton, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at the James H. Quillen Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Johnson City. He was a native of Johnson City, son of the late John and Gladys Street Douglas.
 Jimmie served honorably in the U. S. Army from 1967 to 1969.
 He was of Baptist faith.
 In addition to his parents, a sister, Jean Douglas, also preceded him in death.
 Survivors include: his brothers and their spouses, Eddie and Lynett Douglas and Kenneth “Butch” and Tammy Douglas; three children and their spouses, Richard and Barbara, Candi Douglas all of Elizabethton and Denny Douglas and Jodie Wesolowski of Manhattan, IL; eight grandchildren Justin Douglas and fiance’ Cassie Draper, Johnny and Brian Douglas, Nick and Dee’Anna Malyar, Zander and Dylan Macek and one great-grandchild Maggie Douglas and one on the way.
 The family would like to express our appreciation for the doctors, nurses and staff of the VAMC for their special care shown over his recent years. Also special thanks to his home health nurse Courtney.
 The family would like to ask everyone attending his services to wear masks for everyone’s safety. The family will receive family and close friends at 11:00 am until 12:00 pm in the Dogwood Chapel of Morris-Baker Funeral Home (ten people at a time please). A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm under the direction of a VA Chaplain (social distancing will be observed). A committal service will be conducted at Monte Vista Memorial Park following the funeral service at 1:00 pm.
