Wanted fugitive captured in Greene County

According to Washington County Sheriff Ed Graybeal, a man wanted since February on several charges by Greene County and Washington County authorities has been arrested.
Tyler James Rogers, 26, was wanted by Greeneville Police in connection to a carjacking incident that occurred back in February. Rogers was spotted in Washington County on March 5 and eluded deputies after crashing his car on Cherokee Road. Since that time, deputies had multiple sightings of Rogers who evaded officers.
He was located and taken into custody at a residence on Haney Hill Road in Greene County on Tuesday, May 5. Rogers faces numerous charges in Washington County which include one count of evading arrest by motor vehicle; two counts of evading arrest by foot; one count of reckless driving; and four counts of motor vehicle theft.
Rogers is currently incarcerated at the Greene County Detention Center and is awaiting transfer to Washington County where he will be held on a $21,500 bond.
