The Hampton Bulldog baseball team got their first opportunity to play under the lights at Scotty Bunton Field on Friday night and by the time the Bulldogs had finished, they turned the lights out on visiting Hancock County by a 10-9 score.
Dalton Rouse got the job done in relief as the hurler worked three innings from the mound to earn his second win of the season while fanning seven Indian batters out of the nine outs he faced.
Weston Street was the big dog at the plate for Hampton going 3-for-5 with two RBI’s.
The game came to a thrilling end when Josh Owens ripped an Indian pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning to drive home the winning run. Owens had a big day at the dish as well for Hampton batting 2-for-3.
With the win, the Bulldogs stand with the unblemished mark after the first full week of prep baseball.
