Ikie M. Tolley

Ikie M. Tolley, 95, Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at Signature Health Care. He was born September 5, 1924 in Hampton to the late Brownlow and Dovie Stevens Tolley.
Ikie was retired from North American Rayon Corporation and was a farmer. He was a member of Blue Springs Christian Church. In earlier years he loved to hunt and fish.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Ilene Morrell Tolley, and his siblings, Jesse Tolley, Frank Tolley, Effie May, Cordie James, Jobe Tolley, Goldie Tolley, Hardie Tolley, Hartie Tolley and Lester Tolley.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Larry Joe and Joan Tolley; his grandson, Jeffery Shawn Tolley; a sister, Gracie Whitehead; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, February 8, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gary Whitehead and Mr. Richard Thomason, minister, officiating. Music will be provided by Jill Kemp. The graveside service and interment will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 9, in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 2:50 p.m. Sunday, will be Mickey Bennett, Bo Toft, Mark Church, Noel Church, Shirrell Bowers and Michael Whisenhunt. Honorary pallbearers will be his church family. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the home of Larry Joe and Joan Tolley. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff and nurses of Signature Health Care, Dr. Steven May and special thanks to all who came to visit him at Signature Health that certainly made his stay more enjoyable.
