Doug Buckles would say it was a clean sweep up the creek as the Unaka Rangers JV boys started the night with a win over the Jr. Bucs and
the Varsity boys finished the sweep with a 53-50 win while the Lady Rangers won 62-31.

It was another big night for Coach Kenneth Chambers Lady Rangers as eleven girls scored points led by Lyndie Ramsey with 19.
The Lady Rangers got off to a slow start but quickly picked up the pace in the second half. Unaka’s led was only 29-18 at the half but a 25-point
third quarter took the air out of Coach Marty Story’s Lady Bucs.
“We played hard and tough defense tonight”, stated Coach Chambers. “It was a total team effort and a lot of girls scored points, but we got to work
harder, we have Cloudland coming up this Friday”, Chambers added.

Kiki Forney nailed three long jumpers in the first half to finish with nine points, Mailey Guy scored eight and Tara Whitehead finished with seven points as the Lady Rangers starters only played about half the game.
Delaney Trosin scored ten for U.H.
It was a big win for Coach Aaron Duggers Unaka Rangers as they took a 53-50 win over the Jr. Bucs netting the Rangers their first conference win of the season.
After having Cosby on the ropes and a one-point loss at North Greene, Unaka could easily be .500 in the conference.
The Rangers took the opening tip and jumped out to an 11-2 lead before the Bucs could get a time out.
Leading 14-4 the Rangers put up 21 points in the opening quarter, 15 coming from three-pointers.
University took the lead only one time in the game with 3:45 left in the third. The lead lasted for only six seconds as Will Sexton’s layup gave the Rangers back the lead for good.
Dylan Whitehead was just unstoppable under the boards as his game was set up when Unaka forced the Jr. Bucs to play a man to man after hitting all the threes.
When the game came down the line it was the smallest player making the biggest noise.
Devin Ramsey broke loose down the middle of the court and hit a lay-up and connected on his foul shots at the end.
With only seconds left Sexton went to the line to put the game away hitting only one of the two shots that gave the Rangers a 53-50 lead.
The Jr. Bucs got three shots off in the final seconds but none would fall.
Sexton led Unaka with 20, Whitehead followed with 14. Three players for U-H hit double figures as Marshall Fleenor and
Kaleb Meredith both scored 14 and Mason Broome followed with 12.

“These kids keep coming back to work even with all the bad things that have happen to us up to this point,” Dugger said. “They deserve
