Cyclones have strong showing at Fandetti-Richardson Brawl

JOHNSON CITY – The Elizabethton Cyclone wrestling team continues to show others why they are a team that has serious contentions on reaching the state level as Cyclone wrestlers took titles in three weight categories at the Fandetti-Richardson Brawl.

On the girls’ side, Tyesha Thomas was a beast the entire weekend taking the title in her weight class while laying waste to the opposition.

The boys saw two wrestlers secure impressive victories to capture their individual weight classes.

In 195, Deuce Morton – the defending state champion in that weight class, continued his strong season recording his 100th match victory during the meet beating some strong competition along the way including Christian Brothers Conner Billingsley by an 11-6 decision in the championship match.

Joseph Kechter picked up the third title of the day in 285 when he pinned Austin McClure of Bradley Central. Kechter won all five matches by pinfall on the day.

Also placing for the Cyclones was Alex Conley who finished seventh in the tournament.

The Cyclones will be participating in a tournament in Pigeon Forge during the upcoming weekend. The following is a comprehensive breakdown of the boys’ weight classes from action at Science Hill High School.
