Gordon “Feller” Lynn Walker

Gordon “Feller” Lynn Walker, of Elizabethton, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2019.
Mr. Walker was born September 1, 1944 to the late Lillie May and Earl Walker of Elizabethton, Tenn. Also, Gordon was predeceased by his sisters, Betty Williams and Nyoka Perry, and brothers, Eugene and Dallas Walker.
He grew up in Stoney Creek and graduated from Unaka High School. After receiving government security clearance, he worked in the United States Army Mapping Department in Washington, DC. In the 1970s he moved west to Glendale, Ariz., working for Pearce Distributing. Leaving the desert for the Rocky Mountains, he enjoyed employment with the Bureau of Land Management based in Riverton, Wyo. He worked a brief stint with the U.S. Corps of Engineers in New Orleans before returning to East Tennessee where he had a successful sales career. Gordon was a deacon at First Christian Church and loved serving his church family. Favorite pastimes of his were fly fishing, wood working, gardening and singing along with his favorite cowboy ballads.
Mr. Walker is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sharon Routh Walker, and his son, Joshua, in-laws, Sherrell Perry of Stoney Creek, Mary Brodie of Pinedale, Wyo., Jack Routh of Mesa, Ariz., and Lucien “Doc” Williams of Laguna Mountain, Calif., and several nieces and nephews. He will be especially missed by his four-legged Havanese buddy, Lucy Loo.
A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, at First Christian Church, 513 Hattie Avenue, Elizabethton. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. before the service. Condolences may be sent to our website at www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
