Narcotics Anonymous will meet at 12:15 p.m. at the Cross Roads Building, 546 Elk Ave., Elizabethton.

PAL, a new support group for adults with loved ones battling addiction to drugs/alcohol, will meet at 11 a.m. at the Carter County Drug Prevention Coalition, 546 East Elk Ave., Elizabethton. The weekly meetings offer education, support, HOPE, and the knowledge that you are not alone. Roan Mountain Lodge #566 F.&A.M. will meet in Stated Communication at 7 p.m. at 305 Conway St. All members in good standing are encouraged to attend and visiting brethren are always welcome.

TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) will meet at First Baptist Church, 212 East F St., Elizabethton. Weigh-in begins at 5:30-6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting at 6:45 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings. • Saturday, Jan. 18

Roan Mountain Lodge #566 F.& A.M. will meet in Called Communication at the Lodge Hall, 305 Conway St., for the purpose of conferring a M.M. Degree. A meal will be served at 5 p.m. and Degree to follow at 6 p.m. All members in good standing and visiting brethren are encouraged to attend.

Rocky Top Gun Permit School will offer the enhanced handgun carry permit class at 135 Keenburg Road, Elizabethton, starting at 8 a.m. You may carry openly or concealed with this permit and is reciprocal in numerous other states. Ken Potter, a veteran law enforcement officer, is the instructor for the class. Rocky Top is one of the first schools to offer permit training and has been teaching the program since 1997. Cost of the class is $55. You will need to bring your weapon and 50 rounds of ammo. Potter says for those who haven’t yet purchased a gun, loaner guns are available. Alzheimer’s Tennessee Caregiver Support Group will meet at noon at Sycamore Springs Senior Living, 1504 West Elk Ave., Elizabethton. The confidential group provides education, hope and encouragement to caregivers and family members of loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease or any related dementia. Participants can learn about  community resources, share coping techniques and gain insight and feedback from others who understand. Please try to attend to discuss the following: 1. Trail Head Parking Lot at Cherry Flats Road (FS 50A). Status update; 2. Cost to complete the gravel and compaction; 3.
