Helen Ruth Babb Harrison, 84, Valley Forge Community, Elizabethton, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, January 5, 2020, after an extended illness.
A native of Bluff City, she was a daughter of the late Carl and Rosetta Crigger Babb.
Helen was a member of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church and the Young at Heart Ladies Class.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Sam Harrison; two sons, Carl Harrison and wife Cheryl, and Jack Harrison and wife Regina; one daughter, Lisa Morgan and husband Tony; four grandsons, Kevin Harrison and wife Vanessa, Ben Harrison and wife Gracie, Sam Morgan and Caleb Harrison; two great-granddaughters, Kenzie and Emily Harrison; two great-grandsons, Wade and Neil Harrison; her sister, Charlotte Laws; several nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Lucy Babb.
A Service to Celebrate the Life of Helen Harrison will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, January 9, at Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Johnson and the Rev. Mark Potter officiating. Music will be provided by Lisa Morgan and the Praise Choir. Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 10, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the Young at Heart Sunday School Class and her church family. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff at Amedisys Hospice, Dr. Amy Proffitt and her caregiver, Dawnella Campbell. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church. Friends may also visit with the family at her residence.
