Local athletes participate in Arby’s 3-pt contest

Three local athletes were part of the closing day Fun Factory Three-Point Contest during the Arby’s Classic at Bristol’s Viking Hall.
Hampton’s Jordan Bentley faired the best of the three recording 17 points in the long-range shooting contest. Jake Roberts of Elizabethton collected 11 points while Cyclone teammate Jordan Haynes finished with 10 points.
Cameron Gates of North Mecklenburg won the contest with 19 points while Viking teammate Shamann Artis finished in second with 18 points.
Contestants shot five balls from a rack stationed at five different locations around the arc with four brown basketballs good for one point for each made and a red and white ball accounting for two points if made.
