It was a busy holiday week on the courts for local high school basketball teams as about every county team was active in holiday tournament play. Here are some recaps of games that played out.
Oneida Christmas Tourney

Clinton…..46
Unaka……40
The Unaka Lady Rangers gave Clinton all they wanted and more in the Oneida Christmas tournament dropping their contest by a 46-40 score.
Freshman Lyndie Ramsey continued her strong start to the season by leading the Lady Rangers with 16 points in the contest with a pair of treys. Macy Ensor also reached double figures with 10 in the loss.
Jada Whitehead added six points for Unaka while four points each were recorded by Zoie Grindstaff and Mailey Guy.

Lynn Camp, KY…39
Behind a 22-point outburst from Lyndie Ramsey, the Unaka Lady Rangers picked up a 62-39 win over Lynn Camp, KY in the Oneida Christmas tournament.
Ramsey had plenty of help as MacKenzie Depew reached double figures as well with 10 points connecting on a pair of treys.
Macy Ensor added eight points while Tara Whitehead dropped in two treys for six points with Jada Whitehead adding five points in the victory. Kiki Forney, Madison Rice, and Mailey Guy tallied three points each.
Trinity Houghton closed out the scoring with two points.

Hanahan, SC….22
The Lady Warriors took a round one win over Hanahan, SC by 34 points in the Carolina Invitational tournament being played in Charleston, SC.
Kadie Bailey led the Lady Warriors in scoring with 11 points while Shalyn Whitson also recorded double figures with 10 points. A total of 11 Lady Warriors reached the scoring column in the win.
Olivia Absher recorded nine points while five points each were scored by Autumn Henegar and Gabby Wood.
Jaiden Clark (4), Kenzie Ramey (4), Emily Lunceford (2), Emma Blevins (2), Kenzie Keller (2), and Casey Campbell (2) closed out the scoring for Happy Valley.

Orangeburg, SC…20
The Lady Warriors took care of business with a 41-20 win over Orangeburg, SC to gain a championship berth game against Bullitt Co., KY on Monday.
Once again, it was a team effort in the win with 11 players recording at least a point led by senior Shayln Whitson who led the charge with 13 points. Gabby Wood contributed with seven points in the win while Casey Campbell and Emily Lunceford chipped in with four points apiece.
Kadie Bailey (3), Alexis McNally (2), Olivia Absher (2), Autumn Henegar (2), Emma Blevins (2), Jaiden Clark (1), and Kenzie Ramey (1) closed out the book for Happy Valley.
Action Athletics Christmas Tourney

Chuckey-Doak…65
Happy Valley……60
In a close contest in the Action Athletics Christmas Tournament being played at Sullivan North High School in Kingsport, the Black Knights of Chuckey-Doak held off the Warriors of Happy Valley by a 65-60 score.
A big first-quarter outburst by Chuckey-Doak was enough to give the Black Knights the lead they needed as the Warriors found themselves trailing 24-11 after the first period of play.
Alex Lunceford led the Warriors in the contest with 15 points while Andrew Clawson tallied 14 in the loss. Dylan Willis recorded nine points for HV while James Murray and Luke Roberts chipped in with seven points each.
Landon Babb (6) and Will Tittle (2) closed out the Warrior scoring.
Cloudland………..68
John Battle, VA…55
A trio of Highlanders recorded a double-figure contest led by Conner Birchfield with 19 to take down the Trojans of John Battle. Hunter Shell and Hayden Shell followed Birchfield with 17 and 15 points respectively to propel Cloudland to the victory.
Bentley Gilbert knocked down nine points for the Highlanders with Elijah Blair totaled eight points. The Highlanders hit 10 three’s in the contest to pull away.
Cumberland Gap….64
Happy Valley……….39
Alex Lunceford totaled 12 points for the Warriors in a 64-39 loss to the Panthers of Cumberland Gap. Dylan Willis added nine points and Luke Roberts eight in the tournament game being played at Sullivan North.
James Murray (6) and Landon Babb (4) closed out the scoring for Happy Valley.
Sullivan South….89
Cloudland……….72
The Rebels of Sullivan South were just too much for the Cloudland Highlanders to handle in the high-scoring contest.
Four Highlanders reached double figures in scoring led in the contest by 22 points off the hand of Conner Birchfield. Elijah Blair tossed in 15 points while Garrison Julian recorded 14 in the loss.
Hunter Shell finished the night with 11 while Hayden Shell and Bentley Gilbert closed out the scoring with six and four points respectively.
