Unaka Baptist
The Brotherhood at Unaka Baptist Church will have a country style breakfast Saturday, Dec. 28, from 7 to 10 a.m. The menu will include biscuits, gravy, eggs, two kinds of sausage, bacon and hash brown potatoes. Other items are available on request.
The cost is $7.
The public is invited to attend and enjoy both the food and fellowship.

Chaplain Eddie Young will be speaking at Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church on Sunday, Dec. 29, at the morning service.

“Let the Search Begin,” based on Matthew 2:1-12, is the title of Pastor Raymond Amos’s sermon Sunday, Dec. 29, at First United Methodist Church.
Morning worship begins at 9:55 a.m. A brief fellowship time will follow before Sunday School for all ages begins at 11:20 a.m.
The 4:12 Jr. High Student Ministries will meet Sunday from 4:12 to 5:25 p.m. Senior High Ministries will meet from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m., and Coolagers will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m.
The Wednesday Night Life Lessons will be held at 6 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.
Doug Hulshult is youth leader and Jennifer Bradley is children’s leader. A nursery is provided.

First Presbyterian
The pastor, the Rev. Dr. Brian Wyatt, will preach Sunday at the morning worship service at 11 a.m. His message is “Character Studies,” based on the scripture Matthew 2:1-18.
An Education Hour is at 9:45 a.m.
Meditation will not meet this week due to New Year holidays. Other opportunities for the week include Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon; Exercise Class from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; and yoga, Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
