Robert Allen Carriger

Robert Allen Carriger, 61, of Elizabethton, Tenn., passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2019, at his residence. Robert was born in Elizabethton to the late Ollie Christine Colbaugh Carriger and Roy Allen Carriger of Elizabethton.
Robert was retired from the City of Elizabethton and was a United States Army veteran. He was a former member of the Carter County Honor Guard and loved NASCAR racing.
Those left to cherish his memory, in addition to his father, include his wife of 19 years, Angela Powell Carriger of Elizabethton; two daughters, Stephanie Carriger and McKenzie Carriger, both of the home; his soon to be grandson; a sister, Ellen Taylor and husband Skip of Elizabethton; one nephew, Wesley Wright of Elizabethton; and one niece, Chelsey Kirkland, also of Elizabethton.
A service to honor the life of Robert Allen Carriger will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, November 3, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, November 4, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be Smoke Avery, Wesley Wright, Skip Taylor, Randy Powell, Mike Richard and Thomas Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Street, John Street, Bobby Colbaugh, Benny Colbaugh, Randy Colbaugh, Chris Colbaugh and Ed Campbell. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Mountain Home National Cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Monday.
