The Inspirational Person

Inspiring people has come easy to Corey Russell all of his life. Everyone knows him as being the smallest player on the field, but having the biggest impact. I have always known him as my brother. There has never been a time when he has inspired me in a negative way. When he puts his mind to something, there is nothing that will be able to stop him from getting his goal. He is also a very humble person. There are many accomplishments, accolades, and milestones that he could talk about, but he never does. Another example of what he does to inspire me is how he overcomes adversity. Last year, on the last play of his high school career, he tore his ACL. A lot of people would never try to come back, but he worked as hard as he always does and came back better than before. All of these things inspire me to be a better person by the way he acts and shows me how to act.
This story is part of a series of articles from Michael Grindstaff’s Language Arts Class at Elizabethton High School.
Students were asked to write about inspirational people in their lives. The Elizabethton Star is proud to share these with our readers.
