State Senators Rusty Crowe and Jon Lundberg were in Elizabethton Friday morning to present new flags to the City for Elizabethton for display at the Veterans War Memorial. Sen. Crowe said the flags are purchased from a fund provided to each lawmaker for such purposes. The senator said the flags are usually replaced twice yearly and include the American flag, the POW flag, and flags of each military branch of service. On hand for the flag presentation were Sen. Crowe, Ryan Hazlett and John Ferguson of the Tennessee National Guard; members of the Elizabethton Veterans Oversight Committee, who include Councilman Bill Carter, Andrew Wetzel, Mike Barnett, and Rick Walters. Also present were Deacon Bowers and Junior Stanley.
