The Elizabethton High School Class of 1969 will celebrate its 50th class reunion the weekend of September 13-15.
One of the planned programs is a worship service on Sunday, Sept. 15, at 10:30 a.m. at T.A. Dugger Junior High School auditorium. Various class members who are ministers or involved with Christian music will be involved.
Kenneth Jordan, minister at Willow Springs Baptist Church, Elizabethton, will bring the message. Joe Austin, minister, Harvest Church of God, Madison, Va., will present his “faith story.” Special music will be presented by Danny and Teresa Bowers Parker, Nancy Jane Earnest, Deborah Evans Griffith, and the Class of 1969 choir.
An offering will be taken to assist the Carter County Relay for Life in honor and memory of Class of 1969 cancer survivors and victims. The service will include a special memorial video tribute to 39 deceased class members.
Families of those deceased class members are invited to attend, as well as a hearty welcome to the general public that would enjoy worshiping with the Class of 1969.
