Riverview Baptist
Phillips and Banks will sing Sunday at 6 p.m. at Riverview Baptist Church, 1419 Broad St.

Valley Forge U-M
Valley Forge United Methodist Church, 3974 Highway 19E, will have a school clothing give-away Saturday, Aug. 10, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
All sizes of clothing will be available for elementary children through high school.
The clothing give-away is to help children get ready for school said a church member.

Lynn Valley Baptist
Lynn Valley Baptist Church, 1367 Broad St., Elizabethton, will have its monthly clothes closet Saturday, Aug. 3, from 9 to 11 a.m.
Clothing will be available to all ages for men, women and children.
The clothes closet is held in the church annex.

Mountain City Tent Revival
A tent revival will be held Aug. 18-30 at The Way of the Cross Revival Center, 1677 S. Shady St., Mountain City.
Monday through Saturday services will begin at 7 p.m. and the Sunday service at 6 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 18, the Holston River Boys will sing and Sonny Thomas will preach. The remainder of the schedule is as follows:
– Aug. 19, Edwards Family will sing and Shannon Courtner will preach
– Aug. 20, Tony Potter Family will sing and Nathan Jennings will preach
– Aug. 21, A joint choir will sing and Jim McComas will preach
– Aug. 22, Good Shepherd Quartet will sing and Frank Woods will preach
– Aug. 23, Josh Jones Family will sing and David Lyalls will preach
– Aug. 24, Mike Upright will sing and Josh Jones, Berry Dunn and Darin Thompson will preach.

Caldwell Springs
Caldwell Springs Baptist Church will have Vacation Bible School Aug. 5-9 with classes from 6 to 8:30 p.m. each day.
A safari theme will be used as Laban Carrier, missionary to South Africa, will be home visiting as he prepares for his next mission trip.
Vacation Bible School kids will be fundraising for Carrier and his next mission endeavor.
All children are invited.

Oak Street
Oak Street Baptist Church Women on Mission will have a New 2 You Yard Sale for Golden State Missions today from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon in the Christian Activity Center.
There will be children’s clothing, toys, household items, card table and chairs, rocker and footstool, patio umbrellas, bedding, athletic equipment, garden decorations and much more.
Also, the Master’s Hands Handbell Choir from Maryville, Tenn., will perform Sunday at the 10 a.m. service.
The church is located at 804 Oak St.

Hopwoodstock Concert
Hopwood Christian Church will have its 2019 Hopwoodstock Concert Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Covered Bridge Park in Elizabethton.
Performing musicians will include Daniel Couper and the Keep, Nick Blosser, Sam Perry, Jason Hardy, Brian West, Eric Perry, the East River Park Praise Band, and others.
Food and fun will be available for the entire family.
Bring your lawn chair and friends!
Rain date is Aug. 11.

CWF Meeting
The Carter County Christian Women’s Fellowship will meet this evening at 6 o’clock at First Christian Church, Elizabethton.
The guest speaker is Ronda Paulson. The theme of the meeting is “If The Shoe Fits,” and ladies are invited to wear their favorite shoes, and bring a favorite salad.
The meeting promises to be fun with lots of fellowship and laughter.

Hopwood Memorial
A Tamale class will be taught Saturday, Aug. 10, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon in the kitchen at Hopwood Christian Church, Milligan College.
Learn how to make your own tamales with Sylvia Paulsen.

Harmony Free Will
Hunter Greene will preach his last message as associate pastor at Harmony Free Will Baptist Church, Hampton, Sunday, Aug. 4, at the 11 a.m. service.
A recent graduate of Milligan College, Greene will be continuing his studies at Duke University this fall.
The new associate pastor is David Odom.
Pastor Brandon Young invites the public to attend.

First United Methodist
“There’s a Young Boy Here” based on John 6:1-11 will be the Communion message presented by the pastor, the Rev. Raymond Amos, Sr. Sunday at First United Methodist Church.
Morning worship begins at 9:55 a.m. followed by Sunday School at 11:20 a.m.
The Junior High 4:12 Student Ministries meet Sundays at 5:25 p.m., and Senior High Ministries meets from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m.
The Coolagers meet Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Wednesday Night Life Lessons will meet in the church fellowship hall at 6 p.m.
