Eddie Lee Perkins

On Wednesday, July 10, 2019, Eddie Lee Perkins, Johnson City, loving son and father of four, passed away at age of 52 from complications of a fall. Eddie was born November 28, 1966 in West Chester, Pa., to Janice Kay White and Lee David Perkins. He had three children, Amber, Ashley and Sammy Perkins.
Eddie loved to play the guitar and write songs. He was an avid NASCAR Fan and often followed his Uncle Dale Keesee when he raced his Jet fueled car. He had a great faith in the Lord Jesus and often shared his testimony of what life can be like with and without the Lord in your life. He attended Rock Fellowship Church of Johnson City where he had developed some great friends in his men’s group. He was a member of Kairos and Emmaus community. He had grown to love the study of God’s word and had completed a study program at Hebron Colony ministries in Boone, N.C., with support from his family.
Eddie was known for a good sense of humor and quick puns. He had a kind and compassionate spirit and had been known to have given up his last dollar to help a person in need.
He was preceded in death by his infant brother, Sonny Perkins; both maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie White, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Perkins; and several cousins, aunts and uncles.
He is survived by four children; three grandchildren; his mother, Janice White; father, Lee Perkins; sister, Tammy Vible and husband Jeffrey Vible and two children, Chrystal and Benjamin; brother, Charles Perkins and wife Jannell and three children, Charles Jr., Jessica and Jacqueline; sister, Jamie Godfrey and two children, Avery (who he nicknamed boddlehead) and Kamilla (nicknamed Gizmo) as well as many other extended family members.
Funeral services for Eddie Lee Perkins will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Randy Hensley conducting the services. His dear friend, Brian Goodsell, will present a eulogy. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 18, in the Lakeview Cemetery, Butler. Pallbearers will be as follows: Richie Guinn, Brian Goodsell and the Men’s Group. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rock Fellowship Church or in care of “Coalition for Kids” in his memory. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website at www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
