Watauga Valley

The Sacred Journey Quartet will present special singing Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service at Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church, located on Highway 91 near the Unaka High School.

The Rev. Bill Greer, pastor, invites the public to attend.

Sonshine Church of Christ

Revival will be held June 2-5 at the Sonshine Church of Christ, Butler.

The evangelist is Ray Bennett.

Sunday services will be at 10:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m.

The church is located next to the Butler Post Office.

Kent Wilson is minister.

Lynn Valley Baptist

Lynn Valley Baptist Church, 1367 Broad St., Elizabethton, will have its monthly clothes closet on Saturday, June 1, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Clothing will be available to all ages for men, women and children.

The clothes closet is held in the church annex.

Roan Street Free Will

Vacation Bible School will be held June 5-7 at Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church, 820 N. Roan St. in Blackbottom.

Classes will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. with the VBS program on Sunday, June 9, at 10:50 a.m.

The van will run each evening at 5:30. For pickup, call 213-2567 no later than 5:20 p.m.

Van pickup for the Sunday program will be at 9:30 a.m.

Milligan Free Will

Milligan Free Will Baptist Church, 1471 Milligan Highway, will have Vacation Bible School June 17-21. The theme of the Bible school is “Roar.”

Children, ages four through teens, are invited to come and take a safari adventure from 6:30 to 8:30 each evening.

Calvary Baptist

Calvary Baptist Church, Roan Mountain, will have revival June 3-6 with Cody Shew as evangelist.

Services will begin at 7 o’clock each evening.

The church is located above Roan Mountain State Park.

Everyone is invited.

New Zion Faith Center

An indoor yard sale and fish fry will be held Saturday, beginning at 8 a.m. at New Zion Faith Center, 1904 Jamestown Road, Johnson City.

The public is invited.

New Liberty

New Liberty Freewill Baptist Church will have baptism Sunday during the morning worship service beginning at 11 a.m.

Individuals to be baptized are Jeremiah Setzer, Brycen Eggers, Jackson Deyton, Jaylen Hardin, Tennison Hardin, Nick Hardin and Korbin Rainbolt.

During the evening worship service beginning at 6 p.m., Curtis Huskins and friends will present a puppet show focusing on various Biblical themes and characters. Pastor Rev. Nick Colbaugh invites everyone to attend both of these special services. The church is located at 113 Peters Hollow Road near the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

First Christian

Minister Michael Klaus will preach Sunday at the 9:45 a.m. worship service at First Christian Church, Elizabethton.

The Sunday evening service will feature the The Oaks Boys Country Biscuit Jamboree with pre-glow at 5:30 p.m. and the service from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

The Country Biscuit Jamboree is an evening of fun and devotion with a country theme.

You are invited to attend and bring your favorite biscuit topping.

Bible study for all ages will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Upper Gap Creek

Chris and Larey Pippin will present special singing Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service at Upper Gap Creek Free Will Baptist Church. A love offering will be received.

Sunday School begins at 10 a.m.

The church is located at 1380 Dry Creek Road. The Rev. Dale Blevins, pastor, invites the public to attend.

Borderview Christian

Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Highway, will have Vacation Bible School beginning Sunday and continuing through Wednesday, June 5, with classes nightly from 6 to 8 p.m.

This year’s theme follows the “Roar” curriculum, which follows the journey of the  Israelites from Egypt to the Promised Land. Those making the journey will find that God is always good!

The Bible school is open to the public, including adults. There will be Bible lessons, fun, and food.

First Presbyterian

Dr. Lawrence Easterling is the guest speaker for the 11 a.m. service Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, 119 W. F St., Elizabethton. His sermon is titled “A 45-Year-Old Story.”

An education hour will be at 9:45 a.m.

Other opportunities for the week include Meditation at 7 p.m. Wednesday; The Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday; Exercise Class Tuesday and Thursday from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m.; and yoga from 10 a.m. to noon Friday.

Dr. Brian Wyatt is pastor at First Presbyterian.

Long Hollow Baptist

Special singing will be presented Saturday at 6 p.m. at Long Hollow Baptist Church, Valley Forge.

Featured singers will include Jeff Millsaps and Friends.

Sunday at the 11 a.m. service, Southern Harmony will sing. Following the Sunday morning service, snacks will be enjoyed.

Also, an open invitation is given for singers for the Sunday night service.

Everyone is invited to attend the weekend of special music at Long Hollow Baptist Church.
