Mattie E. Lambert Lewis

Mattie E. Lambert Lewis, 92, of Butler, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, from Johnson City Medical Center. Mattie was born in Poga, Tenn., to the late Hobert Charles and Etta Vines Lambert. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles “Ray” Lewis, on December 3, 2003; a brother, Allen Lambert; and a sister, Mae Lambert Harmon.
Mattie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a member of Elizabethton Church of Christ. She enjoyed quilting, fishing, listening to music and also playing music.
Those left to cherish her sweet memories include a daughter, Devonia Lewis McKeehan and husband (and beloved son-in-law) Bobby of Elizabethton; a brother, George Lambert and his wife of Butler; a sister, Selma Vines, also of Butler; two grandchildren, Randy McKeehan of Stoney Creek and Lisa McKeehan Young of Johnson City; and five great-grandsons, Curtis Bradley McKeehan, Georgia, Randy Ray Pritchard, Chase Alan Young and Christopher Robert Young, all of Johnson City, and Dalton Ray McKeehan of Stoney Creek. Also, many beloved nieces and nephews also survive.
A visitation will be conducted from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, May 10, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, or at the residence of her daughter at any time. A service to honor the life of Mattie E. Lambert Lewis will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 11, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. Roby Ellis and Mr. Eddy Craft officiating. Music will be under the direction of Elizabethton Church of Christ Singers. The graveside service will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Bob Campbell, Jeff Vines, Terry Reece and Shane Lambert. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to Elizabethton Church of Christ, 137 East C. Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
