Larna Anne Davis Taylor, 74, of Elizabethton, went to be with her Lord, Monday, May 6, 2019, at Johnson City Medical Center following a battle with cancer.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Robert E. and Virgie L. Davis.
Larna operated Larna’s Beauty Shop for 37 years. She attended Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church. Larna cherished spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Herfel Davis, and a brother-in-law, Jay Taylor.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Granville Taylor; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Carol Taylor, Greeneville, Tenn.; a daughter and son in-law, Amy and Leroy Willis, Elizabethton; her grandchildren, Channing Taylor and wife Autumn Taylor, Greeneville, Tenn., Natasha Kyker and husband Josh, Gray, Tenn., and Emilee Carver and her boyfriend Hunter Hodges; her great-grandchildren, Mason and Sutton Kyker and Connor Taylor; her sisters, Virginia Taylor, Lois Trivette and husband Johnnie, Kingston, Tenn., and Sue Carden and husband Arthur, Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Larna Anne Davis Taylor will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 8, at Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie Trivette and the Rev. Mark Potter officiating. Music will be provided by Jeff Snyder and Joey Abel. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, in the Davis Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the church at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday and also at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Thursday, will be Dennis Peters, Eddie Dean Davis, Hunter Hodges, Channing Taylor, Josh Kyker and Roy Willis. Honorary pallbearers will be Mack Cook, Bill Crawford, Jim Suz, Carl Roberson, Sam Harrison, Jeff Snyder, Loren Harris, Chuck Pearce, Arthur Carden and her church family. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church. Friends may also visit with the family at her residence. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Ballad Health Hospice for the care they gave to her.
