Saturday Night Fever…Downtown pops on Saturday night as warm weather draws crowd

It was a busy Saturday night on Elk Avenue in downtown Elizabethton for young and old, man and beast.
While many were checking out what was under the hoods of many of the vintage cars that lined both sides of the street, others were just taking time to catch up and watch the crowd pass by.
Several vendors were offering concessions and some fun food items to those in attendance.
The fun carried over to the Covered Bridge area where several were enjoying the park and the Doe River. Several Elizabethton High School seniors were taking advantage of the backdrops available to snap pictures of their special night while a wedding party passed by being whisked to the wedding in old jalopy vehicles.
The weather turned from a partly cloudy morning to a beautiful evening with just the right temperature to take in all the activities.
It was just a small taste of what the downtown area will be offering as the summer season quickly approaches.
