The fields at Happy Valley High School looked more like a lake than a playing field Friday as the second flooding event this weekend covered the fields once again.
After suffering severe damage to the baseball and softball fields from a February flood, the last thing the school’s administration and Happy Valley Warrior teams needed was an encore.
Unfortunately, that was precisely what happened on Friday while the county school system was out for spring break as heavy rains that began early Friday morning and continued throughout most of the day sent floodwaters onto the fields once again.
Crews have been working to take down the chain-link fencing that surrounded the fields after the initial flood.
