Two arrested on meth charges in a school zone

Carter County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested two people Wednesday near Hampton High School for possession of narcotics.

Tabitha Jo Drummond, 34, and Justin David Drummond, 34, were taken into custody after deputies found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in their car during a traffic stop. A deputy initiated the stop after he recognized the people in the car as narcotics suspects and found that the vehicle had a license plate that was registered to a car with a different description.

Tabitha Drummond and Justin Drummond are both charged with possession of a Schedule II substance for resale and possession in a drug free school zone. Tabitha Drummond is additionally charged with driving on a suspended license.

Both suspects are being held in the Carter County Detention Center. Justin Drummond is being held on a $10,000 bond, and Tabitha Drummond is being held on an $11,000 bond.
