It looks like Elizabethton’s Mr. Do-It-All has pinpointed where he is going to play college football.
This past Saturday, Elizabethton senior Corey Russell announced via social media that he has committed to Centre College.
The NCAA Division III school is located in Danville, Kentucky and is home to the Colonels. Centre will be entering the 2019 football season after going 10-2 overall in 2018. The Colonels rolled to a 7-1 tally in the Southern Athletic Association while making it to the second round of the NCAA Division III playoffs after topping No. 14 Washington and Jefferson, 54-13.
While at Centre College, Russell will play under head coach Andy Frye, who has been over the program since 1998. Over his two decades with the Colonels, Frye has recorded a 135-66 win tally, making him Centre’s all-time winningest coach.
As a Cyclones, Russell, who played in many different positions including quarterback and running back, recorded over 5,400 total yards with over 800 of those yards coming from passing while over 3,000 yards came on the ground. Russell finished with 87 total touchdowns (58 rushing touchdowns, 13 passing touchdowns).
