Evelyn Marie Ensor Oxendine

Evelyn Marie Ensor Oxendine, 76, of Elizabethton, went to be with her Lord, Friday, March 15, 2019, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Cecil and Cora Ellen Gentry Ensor.
Marie was a 1961 graduate of Unaka High School and a retired employee of Kingsport Press after 18 years of service. She was very active in her church, Dungan Chapel Baptist Church, where she had been a Sunday School Teacher, member of the church choir, served as church clerk and was active in the WMU for several years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Stanley, Raymond, Robert and C. Lee Ensor, and two nephews, Randy and Ricky Ensor.
Survivors include her husband, Tom Oxendine; two sisters, Lynda Vaughn and husband Tom and Ruby Corder, all of Elizabethton; two brothers, Howard Ensor and wife Jewell and Ernest “Pete” Ensor and wife Kathy; a special nephew, Ronnie Ensor; a host of friends, neighbors, nieces and nephews; and her sisters-in-law, Phyllis Ensor, Joyce Ensor and Laura Ensor.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Eric Heaton and Pastor Sammy Ray Oxendine officiating. Music will be provided by the Sacred Journey Quartet. Interment will follow in the Ensor Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Tommy Vaughn, John Corder, James “Bo” Ensor, Michael Ensor, Greg Crowe, Jason Ensor and Ronnie Ensor. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from noon until the service hour at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may also visit with the family at her residence.
