Harry G. Johnson, 89, of Hampton, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019, at his residence.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late William “Bill” and Hettie Johnson.
Mr. Johnson served in the United States Air Force. He was retired as a CNA at the VA Hospital and was a member of Hampton First Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Dawn Johnson Shaffer.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Della Mae Lewis Johnson, and several nieces and nephews.
The graveside service for Harry G. Johnson will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 17, in the Lewis Cemetery, Hampton, with Chaplain Chris Hughes officiating. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers will be J.D. Lewis, Steve Lewis, Carlos Lambert and Johnny Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Bass, Don Banner, Carl Lewis and Stan Johnson. The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home or at the residence.
