Paul Emanuel Brown Sr.

Paul Emanuel Brown Sr., 82, of Elizabethton, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, from his residence, following an extended illness. Paul was born in Royal Oak, Mich., to the late Mike Alexander and Ann Gere Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife of nearly 50 years, Reba Ellen Brown, and one sister, Patricia Ann Brown.
Paul was the owner and operator of Paul’s Auto Electric since 1970 and was a member of Fellowship Community Church in Watauga. Paul was a proud United States Army Airborne veteran and served his country valiantly during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed both restoring and collecting antique cars and also enjoyed traveling. Paul was a member of Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post 2166.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Juanita Brown, of the home; his sons, Danny B. Brown and wife Tammy, Paul Emanuel Brown Jr. and wife Marcy, Darin K. Brown and wife Rose, all of Elizabethton, and Randy Harmon and wife Cathy of Hampton; one daughter, Sandra L. Frank and husband Dale of Fellsmere, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Mike Brown Jr. and wife Nellie of Milton, Fla. A special nephew, Ronnie Guy, of Dearborn, Mich., as well as numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A service to honor the life of Paul Emanuel Brown Sr. will be conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday, January 6, at Fellowship Community Church with Pastor Ken Hauser officiating. Music will be under the direction of Fellowship Community Church, Kenny Storie and Betty Barnes. The family will receive friends at the church from 3 until 6 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service, or at the residence of a son, Paul and Marcy Brown, 152 Watauga Road, Elizabethton. The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, January 7, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Military Honors will be accorded by the Carter County Honor Guard. Active pallbearers will be Captain Anthony Buck, PFC Danny Brown Jr., Stephan Storie, Sergeant Robert Barnes, Eric Shupe and Michael Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Storie and the members of Fellowship Community Church. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Fellowship Community Church at 10:15 a.m. Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses in the CLC Unit C1 and ICU of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Ballad Health Hospice and numerous family and friends for the love shown to Paul during his illness.
