L. Glen Davis

L. Glen Davis, 86, of Elizabethton, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2018, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born May 24, 1932 in Elizabethton to the late Lonnie and Nora Baldwin Davis.
Glen was a graduate of Unaka High School and was retired as Manager of Free Service Tire Company in Elizabethton. He was a member of Lynn Valley Baptist Church in which he loved dearly. He loved working with wood, camping and was a UT Vols Fan. Glen was a loving husband and best friend.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard Davis, Eugene Davis and Cecil Shelton, and four sisters, Katherine Dodson, Lona Grubb, Virginia Brooks and Lillian Clifford.
Survivors include his loving wife and best friend of 67 years, Bernice Bowers Davis, of the home; his sons, Larry Glen Davis and Lynn Edward Davis, both of Elizabethton; his grandchildren, Jason, Whitney, Misty and husband Pete, Lareina and husband Kelly Miracle, and Larissa Davis; his great-grandchildren, Katie, Gabe and Breanna; two step-grandchildren, Brad and Brian Asher; his brother-in-law, Arthur Deacon Bowers; two sisters-in-law, Jane Davis and Peggy Davis; and several nieces and nephews.
The graveside service for L. Glen Davis will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 28, in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Wilson and Rev. Wayne Davis officiating. Interment will follow the service. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Friday, will be Greg Moreland, Kevin Lewis, Mike Davis, John Allen, Larry Stout, Allen Goodwin and Tony Presnell. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Dr. April M. Lambert and the staff of Caris Hospice for their loving care shown to Glen and the family. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Building Fund, Lynn Valley Baptist Church, 1367 Broad Street, Elizabethton, TN 37643. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at his residence.
