Richard Ray Martin

Richard Ray Martin, 74, died Saturday, November 24, 2018, at home.
Born in East Earl, Pa., to the late Clarence Paul and Edna (Hollinger) Martin, he graduated from Garden Spot High School; attended Goshen College, Goshen, Ind.; earned a B.A. degree from Houghton College, Houghton, N.Y.; pursued graduate work at Columbia International University, Columbia, S.C., and was a student at Moody Aviation in Elizabethton, Tenn., a department of Moody Bible Institute of Chicago. By the end of his 31-year teaching endeavor at Moody Aviation, he had become a Professor and Coordinator of the Airframe Department, training students for missionary aviation. Upon retirement, he returned to Lancaster County and worked for the local Amish in a variety of tasks.
Dick, a long-time, active member of Johnson City Alliance Church in Johnson City, Tenn., served as music director.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, L-Louise S. (Herman) Martin; a brother, Lester E., married to Arlene (Horning) Martin; three sisters, Pauline D. Burkholder, Elva M., married to Robert Newswanger, and Arlene R., married to Melvin G. Peifer; plus many nieces and nephews.
He will be interred at Evangelical United Methodist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Global Disciples, 315 W.
