Helen Louise Hunter Barnes

Helen Louise Hunter Barnes, 90, of Johnson City, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Broadmore Senior Living, Johnson City, after an extended illness.
A native of Washington County, she was a daughter of the late Worley Hunter Sr. and Pauline Campbell Hunter.
Mrs. Barnes was retired from United Telephone Company after 32 years of service. She was a member of Berea Free Will Baptist Church. Her hobby was reading.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Archie T. Barnes, and two sisters, Ethel Phipps and Clara Renfro.
Survivors include her sisters, Frances Harrison, Billie Greene and Carrie Matherly, all of Johnson City, and one brother, Worley Hunter Jr., Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The graveside service for Mrs. Barnes will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with the Rev. Jerry Stout officiating. Interment will follow the service.
