Doris Gail Tolley

Doris Gail Tolley, 75, of Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at Johnson City Medical Center.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Fred Sexton and Hazel McGee Matherly.
Doris was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. She was retired from Wal-Mart after 10 years of service. She was a member of Sims Hill Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacy Sherrill, and two great-grandchildren, Bentley Barnette and Judah Sherrill.
Survivors include her husband, the love of her life, of 38 years, Sherman Tolley; a son, Glenn Dale Tolley and wife Marie, of the home; her grandchildren, B.J. Sherrill, Kristin Sherrill, Lorretta Sherrill and Amber Cunningham; her step-grandchildren, Paul Jenkins, Nichole Jenkins and Samantha Barnette; her step-great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn King, Bryson King, Alex King, Mackenzie King, Aliyah Barnette, Connor Sherrill and Sylus Sherrill; three sisters, Jessie Davis and husband John, JoAnn Cantrell and husband Stan and Carolyn Pierce and husband Dallas; her nephews, Gary and John; and her nieces, Lisa, Debbie, Cecelia and Suzy.
Funeral services for Doris Gail Tolley will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday, November 26, in the fellowship hall of Sims Hill Christian Church with Mr. Bret Jones, minister, and the Rev. Gary Whitehead officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Glenn Tolley, Mack Henry, Bobby McGee and family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Pierce, John Davis and Dallas Pierce. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Monday in the fellowship hall of the church.
