Valley Forge Community
Thanksgiving Service
The Second Annual Valley Forge Community Thanksgiving Service will be held Sunday evening at 6:30 at Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church.
“This is a special time when churches in the Valley Forge community come together to thank God for His many blessings. Last year, five churches came together with over 500 in attendance to celebrate God’s goodness to our area,” said Pastor Randy Johnson.
The local ministry focus this year is the Isaiah 117 House. A love offering will be received for this ministry to children.
Valley Forge Free Will is located at 1503 Riverview Drive.

First Presbyterian
The Rev. Dr. Brian Wyatt, pastor, will preach Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton. The service begins at 11 a.m.
Dr. Wyatt’s sermon title is “Choosing Vegetables” based on Daniel 1.
An Education Hour for all ages will be at 9:45 a.m.
Other opportunities for the week include Meditation at 7 p.m. Wednesday; the Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon Thursday; Exercise Class Tuesday and Thursday from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m.; and yoga Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.
First Presbyterian is located at 119 W. F St.

First Christian
Sunday is “Be Kind To An Orphan Sunday,” and First Christian Church is a drop-off location for shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Members of the church are reminded to bring their filled shoeboxes Sunday or items to help pack a box.
Sunday afternoon, the boxes will be prepped for shipping on Monday. If your church has shoeboxes, please bring them to the church Sunday afternoon. For more information call the church office at 542-5651. Shoeboxes may also be brought to the church from 2 to 7 p.m. today; 12 noon to 4 p.m. Saturday; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Monday at 10 a.m. is the deadline to turn a box in for the collection.
Minister Michael Klaus will preach Sunday at the 9:45 a.m. worship service. Todd Maine will give the communion meditation and read scripture. Leslie Brockley will present special music this Thanksgiving Sunday.
The Sunday evening service will begin at 6 p.m. with Minister Klaus speaking. John Smith will serve as worship leader.
Bible study will be held Wednesday at 6 p.m., followed by choir practice at 7 p.m.
Church offices will close at noon Wednesday for Thanksgiving and remain closed Thursday and Friday.

Borderview
Borderview Christian Church will host Rita Schuettler and Scott Reynolds in a Sacred Keyboard Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25.
Rita and Scott have a combined 130 years of playing the organ and piano and are excited to present a variety of hymn and carol arrangements at this musical evening. There will also be arrangements using two pianos.
Both Rita and Scott are Elizabethton residents.
The Adult Choir Ministry of Borderview will present the Christmas musical “Come, Let Us Worship the King” Sunday, Dec. 2, at 10:45 a.m. A repeat performance will be at 4 p.m.
The musical, with enhanced lighting and video, will feature a 25-voice choir with Tia Sams as soloist.
Scott Fisher serves as senior minister.
The public is invited to these special service at Borderview.

CCCMF Meeting
The Carter County Christian Men’s Fellowship will meet Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. at Lick Creek Christian Church.
Aaron Murphy will be the guest speaker. Following the preaching and worship service there will be a time of fellowship.

Oak Street
Oak Street Baptist Church will host its annual Christmas Vintage Marketplace Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The church’s largest fundraiser of the year, the Vintage Marketplace will feature more than 40 vendors, including Auntie Ruth’s Donuts, Evia’s Concessions, and Kathy’s Kotton Kandy & Popcorn as well as a hotdog and box lunch and numerous baked goods.
Also, the marketplace will feature a number of craft vendors, including wood crafts, scrubs and handmade soaps, crochet goods, Christmas decor, jewelry, candles, wreathes, and lighted creations, just to name a few.
All vendor fees and lunch proceeds will go to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions.

Carter Christian
Carter Christian Church, 1765 Highway 91, Stoney Creek, will host a Thanksgiving service Sunday at 6 p.m.
Don Brandon will be the speaker and Marlene Vance will present special music.
Richardson Thomason, minister at Blue Springs Christian Church, will have the welcome.

Southside Free Will
Southern Harmony will present special singing Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service at Southside Free Will Baptist Church, Jack Bradley Road.
Following the service a spaghetti dinner will be held. All proceeds will go to the church youth group. The cost is $6.

Unaka Baptist
An All-You-Can-Eat Fish Fry will be held this evening at Unaka Baptist Church from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The cost is $10 each person.
