Zion Baptist
Zion Baptist Church, 1982 Gap Creek Road, will have a fall revival, beginning Sunday at morning worship. Services Sunday will begin at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Monday through Wednesday at 7 p.m.
The evangelist is Pastor Josh Scalf, Founder of Recovery Soldiers Ministry in Elizabethton.
Music will be provided by the church choir and the Recovery Soldiers Worship Team.
Dr. D. Alan King, pastor, invites the public to attend.

Poplar Grove
Sacred Journey will present special singing Oct. 28 at the morning service at the Poplar Grove Baptist Church, Stoney Creek. A soup and sandwich fundraiser lunch will follow with all proceeds going to the youth.
Trunk or Treat will be held on Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m.

First Christian
John Smith will preach Sunday at morning worship at First Christian Church, Elizabethton. The service begins at 9:45 a.m. with Janet S. Faires leading worship.
Special music will be presented by Ardith Sheffield and the communion meditation will be given by David Shields. Orris Densford will read scripture.
Bible school classes will meet at 11 a.m.
Ben Cole will be guest speaker at the evening service at 6 p.m. and Janie Broyles will lead the music.
The Tuesday morning prayer group led by John Smith will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
The Wednesday evening Bible study and prayer meeting will be held at 6 p.m., with choir practice to follow.

First United Methodist
“You Can Run, But You Can’t Hide” is the theme of the Sunday morning message at First United Methodist Church, Elizabethton, by Pastor Raymond Amos, Sr. The sermon is about God’s Inescapable Love and is based on Heb. 4: 12-16.
The service begins at 9:55 a.m. followed by Sunday School at 11:20 a.m.
The 4:12 Junior High Student Ministries will meet Sunday from 4:12 to 5:25 p.m. and the Senior High Student Ministries will meet from 5:30 to 7:15 p.m.
The Coolagers meet each Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Wednesday evening Life Lessons will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the church fellowship hall.

CCCMF meeting
The Carter County Christian Men’s Fellowship will meet Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. at East River Park Christian Church. Don Brandon will be the guest speaker.
Following the preaching and worship service, there will be a time of fellowship.

Big Springs
Church of Christ
Big Springs Church of Christ will celebrate homecoming Sunday at 10 a.m.
The guest speaker will be Bob Allen with special music by Larry Jeffers. Lunch will be served following the service.
Revival with Bob Allen will be held Oct. 15-17 with services each evening at 7 p.m. Also, special music will be presented at each service.

Unaka Baptist
Unaka Baptist Church will have their country style breakfast Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The menu will include biscuits and gravy, eggs, two kinds of sausage, bacon, and hash brown potatoes. Other items are available on request.
The cost is $7 with proceeds going to the church building fund.
Also, the church will celebrate homecoming Sunday, Oct. 21, with Hunter Greene as guest speaker. Brie Fagan will present special music.
The homecoming service will begin at 10:30 a.m. There will be no evening service.
Lunch will be served following the morning service.

Friendship Free Will
Friendship Free Will Baptist Church, Hampton, will have revival Sunday.
Jeff McKinney will preach at the 10:30 a.m. worship service and Dallas Greg will preach at the evening service at 6 p.m.
The church is located at 472 Highway 321, Hampton.

Bible Baptist
Bible Baptist Church will celebrate homecoming Sunday at the 11 a.m. service.
Also, a Harvest Time Revival with Evangelist Greg Lentz will begin Sunday and continue through Oct. 17. Services will begin at 7 p.m.
Special singing will be featured nightly.
The church is located at 1215 Broad St.

Lynn Valley
Lynn Valley Baptist Church will have Fall-For-Jesus Saturday, Oct. 13, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Activities will include games for kids, face painting, inflatables, train rides, Bible stories, and a drama.
There will also be chili, hotdogs, apple cider, and candy as well as door prizes.
Admission is free and everyone is invited.

Phillippi Baptist
Phillippi Baptist Church, Elizabethton, will celebrate its 151st anniversary Sunday with a special service at 3 p.m. The featured speaker will be the Rev. Aaron T. Murphy, Pastor of Thankful Baptist Church, Johnson City.
Also, Thankful Baptist will present special music.
The theme of the service is “I know not what the future holds, but I know who holds the future.”
Sunday School is at 10 a.m. and morning worship is at 11 a.m.

Rich Acres
The Singing Duggers will be featured at a song service Sunday at 6 p.m. at Rich Acres Free Will Baptist Church.
The church is located at 1245 King Springs Road, Johnson City.
The public is invited.

First Presbyterian
The pastor, Dr. Brian Wyatt, will lead worship Sunday morning at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton. His text will be Ex. 16: 9-24 and Acts 20: 33-35. He will also be reading from the South African liturgy:
You asked for my hands that you might use them for your purposes.
I gave them for a moment then withdrew them for the work was hard.
You asked for my mouth to speak out against injustice.
I gave you a whisper that I might not be accused.
You asked for my eyes to see the pain of poverty.
I closed them for I did not want to see.
You asked for my life that you might work through me.
I gave you a small part that I might not get “too involved”.
Lord, forgive us for calculated efforts to serve you only when it is convenient to do so, and only where it is safe to do so, and only with those who make it easy to do so.
Lord, forgive me, renew me, send me out as a usable instrument, that I may take seriously the meaning of your cross.
The worship service will begin at 11 a.m.
An Education Hour for all ages is at 9:45 a.m.
Other opportunities for the week include Meditation at 7 p.m. Wednesday; the Thursdays with Jesus Reading Group from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday; Exercise Class Tuesday and Thursday from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m.; and Yoga, Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.

Cedar Grove
Homecoming will be held Sunday at Cedar Grove Baptist Church, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
Special music will be presented by Terry Wood and Gary Rice.
Following the service, lunch will be served.

Homecoming will be celebrated Sunday, Oct. 21, at First Free Will Baptist Church, Elizabethton.
The Troy Burns Family will be singing at the morning service, which begins at 10:30 a.m. Lunch will be served following the morning service.
The Rose Ministry will sponsor a fall bazaar Saturday, Oct. 27, in the Floyd Center. There will be arts and crafts, baked goods, including fried apple pies, and soupbeans and cornbread.
